A Festival Rooted in Tradition
The Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Jie), is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. It dates back over 2,000 years and is deeply rooted in Chinese culture. One of the most well-known legends behind the festival commemorates Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet and minister who lived during the Warring States period. When Qu Yuan drowned himself in protest against government corruption, the local people raced out in boats to search for him—thus inspiring the dragon boat races we see today. They also threw rice into the river to protect his body from fish, which later evolved into Zongzi, the sticky rice dumpling that symbolizes this festival.
A Small Gift, a Big Thank You
To mark the occasion, Winkuan prepared a special gift for every member of our team—a beautifully packaged box of Zongzi, freshly made and full of flavor. From savory pork and mushroom to sweet red bean, each dumpling was a reminder of home, heritage, and care. Though small in size, this gesture carried a big message: “Thank you for your dedication, your teamwork, and your contribution to Winkuan’s journey.”
